Playful learning, physical gaming, smart moving! SmartUs playelements are the physical elements of the SmartUs playground which can be constructed in a variety of environments from natural places to already constructed surroundings.
iStation - iPosts - iGrid - inStation - inGrid - iCard - Smart Reg
iStation
 | iStation Central Unit controls the action in the SmartUs environment. The user registers at the iStation, which gives both visual and audible feedback via the info screen and inbuilt speakers.
iStation includes several ready-made educational games. Users can create new games by using the software tools LinkIt and PlayCreator.
The iStation user interface comprises a screen and four buttons for navigating in the graphical user interface and for managing recovery actions of the iStation. The graphical user interface is designed for multilingual user groups.

iPosts
 | iPost info poles are located all over the SmartUs playground. Children swipe their identifier iTag past the inbuilt iPost or iStation sensor when playing the ready-made educational games, or the games they made themselves.
iPosts are built using RFID-technology. In addition to recognition, they comprise an image window used for different functions in the SmartUs environment.
In each pole, there is a different sticker collection used in the games. The images can be found in in a rotating window.
|
iGrid
 | iGrid is a jumping grid operating with sensor technology and designed for the outdoor environment. It comprises 3x4 tiles: 9 tiles for game jumping, and 3 operational tiles for managing functions on the grid.
The operational tile with triangle is for starting a game and for getting play instructions; the operational tile with square is for quitting the game and for going back to the game menu view. The operational tile with circle doesn't have an active role, yet.
The user's physical actions on the sensors are transformed into information in the SmartUs iStation, which includes software solutions for combining the information with audiovisual feedback material. Users get feedback from the actions on the iGrid through the iStation screen and loudspeakers.
|
iCard
 | The iCard for SmartUs users is a credit card sized sensor, with which the user may log-in and participate in the applications created for the physical SmartUs environment it enables registering, requesting personal game statistics and using role gaming services.
The points that read the iCard sensor in the physical environment are the control point (iStation) and communication poles (iPost).
The iCard is also used for logging in on the SmartUs web services.
|
inStation
and inGrid
 | inStation central control works as the operational centre for SmartUs indoor games, displaying everything on a big screen and giving audi-visual feedback. It is based on the same technology as the iStation, forwarding all data to make it available via internet.
|
 | The inGrid is an indoor version of the iGrid jumping grid based on the same sensor technology and consiting of nine operational tiles as well. The sensors information is transmitted to the inStation.

Score Box, item 200801 (combining quick registration and score view)

| This innovative device is meant to make registering the iCard even easier. It shows also the scores from the local SmartUs environment.
It can be placed in any configuration to substitute web compatible computers which are usually used to sign on.
On showing the iCard to the Smart Reg sensor, it simultaneously registers the account online and takes a picture of the players for their iWeb profile. The players can follow their competition on the score board.
